One of the best perks of having an in-home newborn session is that you don’t have to leave your house. I will come to you with all my gear! You just had a baby, and the last thing you want to do is to get everyone dressed and ready to travel to a new location to take photos. Instead, you can just stay home where you and your family are comfortable, and you don’t have the worry of forgetting anything!

Include your whole family in the session!
Another benefit to staying home is you can have your whole family involved. I love to get candid photos of siblings with their new baby brother or sister. And sometimes grandparents will be at home to help and we can snag a few moments of them with their new grandchild. It is a great way to have a record of all of those sweet moments your new babe will share with everyone.

Having your session at home will document what life looks like in this new season. Things change over the years, and one day, you will love having a record of what it was like when you just brought home your new baby.

Make your family comfortable!
How awesome that you can stay in your own space? You don’t have to go to a new location that is unfamiliar to you. It is your home, so you will feel most comfortable as I document your new baby and new phase of life. It is also nice for older siblings to be in their own place, where they are known and loved. I find that it helps them open up and makes taking photos easier!

Variety of backgrounds!
When you take photos at home, there are multiple backgrounds we can use to document your family. I will use areas that have the best natural light! Most people use living areas, parent’s room, the new nursery, and even sibling’s rooms and other unique areas of the house. It is great for documenting what your house looks like right now!
